GREAT OUTDOORS

The May meeting will be held at the Great Outdoors on South Congress Avenue. This is a members only event due to the limited parking and seating. (You may wish to bring your own folding chair).

Doors will open at 6:45 PM with a presentation on New Plant Introductions beginning at 7:00 pm. There will be coffee and tea, but bring your own bagged snack if you wish.

There will about 30 minutes after the presentation when members will have the opportunity to shop and receive a 10% discount on any purchases.

Garden Show and Plant Sale

Plant Show and Sale

The club’s annual plant sale and show to be held at Zilker Botanical Gardens on June 1 & 2.

Bring your donated plants ready to sell to the setup on Friday, May 31st. from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm or on Saturday from 8:00 am - 9:30 am. Then, plan to work the sale on Saturday and/or Sunday.

. Note: You do NOT need to be a club member to enter plants or exhibits into the show.

Plants will be on sale all day Saturday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday 9.00 am to 4:00 pm. Come by and pick up a great plant at a great price.

We will also be having a club luncheon on Saturday-everyone is welcome! Thank you to those who have already signed up. But, we have lots of openings left. Remember, this is a club event and the proceeds from the sale benefit the club. Contact Laura Joseph if you would like to sign up to help.

This is an open show and we invite all interested gardeners to bring a plant for judging. The show will be open to the public from noon to 7:00 pm on Saturday. and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday June 2. All plants must be picked up by 5 o'clock on Sunday.

SEMINAR; NIGHT-BlOOMING GARDENS - Saturday June Ist - 2:30 to 3:20 PM.

Mark Gibbs from The Great Outdoors Nursery on South Congress will share his knowledge of night blooming plants that work well in Austin. A variety of night-blooming species will be on sale on both Saturday and Sunday (as long as supplies last.)

Attendance to the seminar, show and sale is free. However, the Austin Parks & Recreation Department charges a gate entrances/parking free for admittances to the Zilker Botanical Garden. The fees are $2 per adult, $1 per child (ages 3-12) or seniors (age 62 & over), and $3 for non-Austin Residents. Cash or check accepted. There are no additional charges for the Plant and Flower show, the sale or other Park events and trails.

Joint Meeting with Austin Cactus & Succulent Society
Zilker Park - Garden Center - Auditorium

The November meeting will be a joint meeting with the Cactus and Succulent Society. The evening will include a speaker from The Cactus and Succulent Society as well as lots of exotic plants for the plant raffle. The TGCOA will provide the refreshments for the meeting.
